Goals To give information about basic concepts, laws, theories of chemistry, and thus develop the ability to evaluate of experimental data, execute idea about structure of a chemical compound and about a chemical reaction, to teach; how to understand acidity or basicity of a substance , how to be prepared a solution that is in a desired concentration, how to prepared a solution that is in a desired pH, how to be determined the concentration of a solution or how to be determined the amount of a component in a sample.
Course Content Chemical calculations, periodic table, chemical bonds, mixtures, acids and bases, aqueous solution reactions and ion equilibriums
Learning Outcomes 1) Introduces the structure of the atom and the basic concepts and laws of the chemistry.
2) The student Explains the basic chemical calculations.
3) The student find the molecule formula of a compound using experimental data.
4) The student establishes relationships between the location of the periodic table of elements and atomic numbers and the physical / chemical properties of the elements.
5) The studend explains the preparation of a solution that is in a desired concentration, how to prepare a solution that is in a desired pH, determination of the concentration of a solution and determination of the amount of a component in a sample.
6) The student derives from the ideal gas laws by correlating the properties of gases with temperature, pressure, and volume parameters.
7) The student evaluates the importance of radioactivity and nuclear reactions in terms of technology and health care.
