Goals The aim of the course is to provide information about the life styles of human groups who have adapted to the new environmental conditions with the melting of glaciers at the beginning of the holocene and at the end of the pleistocene. In addition, how the first Neolithic formations in Europe came into being will be examined.
Course Content The course includes European Mesolithic cultures and Mesolithic settlement patterns. During the course, information will be given about the first Neolithic formations as well as the European Mesolithic lifestyle.
Learning Outcomes 1) The general terms and concept concerned with the prehistoric archaeology
2) The techno-typology of bone tools in the prehistoric periods
3) Prehistoric settlement patterns and burial customs
4) Prehistoric art and the ideality and lifestyle of prehistoric man
5) The most important discoveries, which occurred and effected to the history of mankind in prehistoric periods
6) Neolithisation process
7) The Pleistocene period’s ecology
8) The environmental factors, which played a role in transition from the Paleolithic to the Epi-paleolithic and/or Mesolithic
9) The techno-typology of knapped stone tools in the prehistoric periods
10) Making a relation skill between the human behaviors and the ecological conditions
11) Zooarchaeology principles and the prehistoric fauna
12) The Pleistocene period’s economy models
13) Understanding skill of the process of mankind history
14) Making a relation skill among the various settlements chronologically and culturally
15) Making comment on the various cultures
