About Program
This PhD programme consists of
expansive explorations of Arabic culture and literature within an
interdisciplinary frame. The lectures offered in the programme and the
dissertation topics include various aspects of Arabic language, culture and literature.
In this perspective translation classes, history of language, literature
seminars are analysed with examples and compared with the turkish literature.
Goals
The aim of this programme is to enable students to critically examine and analyse a wide range of texts in Arabic literature within various social, cultural, political and philosophical contexts. Summary of Program Outcomes
Recognizes the history and stage of Arabic Literature and their distinctive formal and stylistic phases. Makes comparative literary studies using the knowledge and skills related to Arabic Language and Literature. Shares issues in written and oral examination and criticism related to Arabic language and literature. Uses Arabic language as an academic language in scientific research. Uses modern teaching techniques and methods in teaching Arabic. Upon the completion of the programme, students will be able to enhance their analytical, critical and research skills in Arabic language and literature studies.
