Turkish Religious Mûsic is a main branch of science at the University of Ankara in the Faculty of Divinity attached to Department of Islamic History and Arts. It's aim
to developping knowledges of professional music and it's practicing at the level academic.

The aim of this lesson is to give information to the students about elementary of knowledge on Turkish Music. To teach them about the signs, simple mods, the migrated and combined mods. In this lesson, the students are gained the ability of reading and deciphering the notes to learn the religous compositions from the main sources. It is aimed in this lesson for students to teach the musical terms and music literature and by this lesson to give information about native and foreign words related to the education of religous music. In this lesson it is aimed that to give general knowledge about rhytims and especially about practice of used rhytims in Turkish Music. The practice and interpretation of religous music needs special manner in Turkish Music. This manner is learnt to the students by practicing and teorical way. The history of our music dates back to more over thousands years. In history there are a lot of autors of music and they left many works on music. In this lessons beside the developing of history of Turkish Music. It is learnt the biographes of these autors and their works.
