Goals Museum education, which started actively in the 20th century, changed the role of the museum in society in the context of philosophy and practices. The contemporary museum develops and implements new museum approaches, including modern teaching methods and techniques, by taking educational function in front of other traditional functions. Developing museum watchers with centennial and distance learning methods, thinking about the dimension of learning in museum exhibitions and presentations, planning and implementing educational activities and activities for different age and interest groups, and developing effective methods to sustain its existence are among the priorities of today's museums. This course focuses on the history, types and sustainable educational policies of educational activities carried out by museums to protect, develop, disseminate and sustain cultural and natural heritage.
Course Content General content in the context of 14 weekly courses: Contemporary museums and education. Concepts and theories related to museum. Leading maze trainers. Museum education and practices from the world and Turkey. Educational practice example and recommendation for Turkish magazines.
Learning Outcomes 1) He-she know the concepts about museum and museum education.
2) He-she knows the theories about museum education and pioneer museum educators.
3) He-she describes the process of learning in the museum and gives examples of interactive learning.
4) He-she knows the history of museum education in the word and in Turkey.
5) He - she describes the museum visitors and changing needs of them.
6) He - she knows how to develop museum visitors and audiences around the world and in Turkey.
7) He - she searches the samples of the projects which were completed around the world and in Turkey.
8) He - she prepares and reccommends education projects for Ankara Museums.
9) He- she represents the projects which were reccomended for Ankara Museums.
