Goals The aim of curriculum is to ensurance that students gain knowledge about insurance contract, types of insurances, concept of risk, property insurance, liability insurance, liability of insurer,ship, register of ship, ship mortgage, shipper, shipper's liability, maritime commerce contracts and provisions relating to maritme commerce book and insurance book of the Turkish Commercial Code No: 6102.
Course Content General Introduction-Overview-Literature-Method Concept and definition of insurance Types of insurances-Classification of insurance Definition, parties and concerned of insurance contract Form and conclusion of the insurance contract Insurance policy, under insurance and over insurance Temporary insurance and retroactive insurance Contractual Obligations Under insurance, over insurance, double insurance, coinsurance Calculation of insurance indemnity, Concept and types of vessels, elements of vessels, Concept of Turkish vessel, Cabotage Law, Turkish National Register of Ship, Turkish International Register of Ship, ship's property and transfer of ownership, ship mortgage, legal mortgage of ships, shipper and shipper's liability, maritime commerce contracts, overwiev and preparation for exam
Learning Outcomes 1) Analyses in details of the concept, definition and the principils of the maritime and insurance law.
2) Becomes aware of the maritime and insurance legislation in the Turkish Law.
3) Determines the contracts of the insurance and the maritime law.
