Goals The main objectives of this course is to promote and provide information about the basic concepts of constitutional law; to give the ability of evaluating these concepts and informations within the framework of constitutional law to make comments on the case studies, to teach the legislation in the field of constitutional law to follow the new publications.
Course Content The headlines of the main themes thouced upon during the constitutional law course are as follows: The subject of Constitutional Law, the concept of constitution, types of constitutions, basic principles of the Republic of Turkey, fundamental rights and freedoms, governmental systems, constitutional amendments, extra-ordinary measures and constitutional review.
Learning Outcomes 1) Students who take this course define constitutional law related concepts and institutions such as constitution, constitutionalism, types of constitution, state types, government systems, fundamental rights and freedoms and constitutional review.
2) Students who take this course distinguish between the concepts and institutions related to Constitutional law, resort to interpretation methods and make comparisons.
3) Students who take this course follow the new legal regulations, legislative changes and scientific publications in the field of constitutional law.
4) Students who take this course will be able to identify the problems in practice and find solutions and judgments about disputes arising in the light of scientific decisions and judicial decisions related to constitutional law.
5) Students who take this course question individual legal disputes related to constitutional law, criticize judicial decisions and scientific texts, and take responsibility individually or as a team member for the resolution and investigation of complex problems.
6) Recalling the basic concepts and information in the field of constitutional law, the students who take this course will conduct research on information deficiencies and develop a positive attitude towards lifelong learning.
7) Students who take this course will be evaluated against constitutional developments by making a comparison in terms of the 'de lege lata' and 'de lege ferenda ' within the framework of constitutional principles.
