Goals The archeology of the civilizations that lived in Iran is taught, aiming to interpret the relations with all the cultures of the Near East.
Course Content The course covers the political history, architectural features and works of art and interregional relations in this period through the political development of Elam, Med-Pers and Akamenid period in Iran.
Learning Outcomes 1) From prehistoric times to the mid-1st millennium BC, cultures living in Iran are studied and their place in the cultural region of the Near East is learned.
2) The features of the Elam architecture and the works of art are examined in detail.
3) Iran-Mesopotamian relations are examined during the Elam period and the traces of mutual interaction are discussed through archaeological data.
4) The origins and developmental lines of Iran's own art concept are studied and the interactions with different regions are examined.
5) Through the political development of the Med-Pers and the Akamenid period, the political history of these periods is examined in Near East.
6) The differences between local cultures developed in different regions of Iran and local styles are examined.
