Goals Beginning students are given the archaeological and cultural definition of the geography within the scope of the basin in order to contribute to the formation of the general framework of the discipline of the preliminary archaeological discipline, terminology and teaching the history and development of archaeological studies in the region.
Course Content The Syrian-Palestinian cultural region, one of the most important regions of the Near East, is learned with all its characteristics. Political, cultural and economic structure of this region is recognized. The characteristics of the settlement models related to the physical structure of the region are learned.
Learning Outcomes 1) The borders of the Syrian-Palestinian cultural region are defined and the civilizations developed in this region are handled in every direction.
2) The development and characteristics of the Syrian style are examined and the relationship with other regional arts is examined.
3) Ebla, Byblos, Mari, Ugarit, Qatna gibi başlıca Suriye kentleri ele alınarak bu bölgede mimari ve şehircilik açısından gelişim irdelenir.
4) Relations between Syria-Palestine and environmental cultural regions are examined.
