Goals The Hittite culture is to teach architecture, art, political history, archeological and philological interpretations from the end of the Assyrian Trade Colonies era, where the roots of which are rooted.
Course Content The origins of Anatolian Hittite cultures are discussed. Within the Anatolian Civilizations, this cult place and its importance are learned. Hittite art and architecture is introduced with all its features. Hittite settlements and architecture in the Anatolian geography are studied.
Learning Outcomes 1) The architecture, art and political history of the Hittites, which established a great kingdom on the Anatolian lands between B.C. 1650 and B.C. 1200 provided political authority in the regions of northern Mesopotamia and Syria, are examined in the light of archaeological data.
2) Hittite architecture is examined in the light of civil and religious examples.
3) The line of development of Hittite art and style is discussed.
4) Relations with environmental cultural regions in parallel to the Hittite political history are discussed and the reflection of intercultural interactions on archaeological finds is examined.
5) The Hittite religion and rituals are evaluated in the light of archaeological and philological documents.
6) The place and the importance of Hittite culture in Anatolian civilizations are examined.
