Goals The course deals with prehistoric cultural development of the Prehistoric Balkan region with a special reference to Anatolian Cultures.
Course Content The course consist of detailed introduction to the most important cultures of the Balkan region and discusses the archaeological evidence representing these cultures.
Learning Outcomes 1) The geography of Balkans is studied and the effects of the climatic and environmental conditions are discussed
2) The Cultures of Balkan are studied from the Neolithic until the end of the Bronze Age in a chronological development
3) Main Cultural Groups of Balkans are evaluated according to their pottery, architecture, small finds and burial Habits.
4) Prehistoric Thracian Cultures are studied according to their role between Anatolia and the Balkans
