Goals Students will be able to understand the cinematic narratives in a more analytical and fruitful manner. Furthermore, they will develop their critical thinking in order to analyze and interpret a filmic text.
Course Content In this course the students will first familiarize themselves with the basic elements of cinematic language and then will be introduced to the concept of genre. Emblematic films from different genres (comedy, horror, science fiction, western etc.) will be examined in order to explore the cinematic form and the infinite narrative possibilities
Learning Outcomes 1) Students will be able to understand the cinematic narratives in a more analytical and fruitful manner. Furthermore, they will develop their critical thinking in order to analyze and interpret a filmic text.
2) Read texts of the period and analyze them within the frame of linguistic characteristics, form, style, content and meaning.
3) Use English influentially in written and verbal communication.
