Goals This course is for seniors. It is intended to provide the students with an understanding of 20th-century American thought as reflected in the literary works of the second half of the century.
Course Content This course analyzes the 20th Century American novel.
Learning Outcomes 1) Explains the terms relevant to the American Novel of the second half of the century
2) Explains the terms of modernism and postmodernism
3) Analyzes the 20th century novel in terms of audience, linguistic style, form, content and meaning.
4) Discusses the historical, social, economic, cultural, political and literary events.
5) Actively employs English in oral and written communication.
