Goals Main purpose of this lecture is to show student to differentiate the technical and artistic aspects of Roman period sculpture in order to identify and date an artefact.
Course Content Principal roman sculpturing specimens from Roman Republican Period till the end of the Roman Imperial period are within context of this lecture.
Learning Outcomes 1) To have knowlodge about early Roman and Etruscan art
2) To know the development and general characteristics of Roman sculpture in Republican period
3) To know the technical and stylistic developments in sculpture during the imperial period.
4) To evaluate Roman sculpturs in a social, cultural and political context.
5) To have knowledge about the development of Roman Portreits
6) To have knowlodge about dating methods of ancient Roman statues
7) To recognize the Greek statues of Roman copies
