Goals The main purpose of this lecture is to introduce the Minoan and Mycenaean Civilisations who were the foundations of the ancient Greek cultures and beginning of the ancient greek art after the Aegean migrations.
Course Content Cultural remains of Minoan and Mycenaean cultures and the Protogeometric and geometric artifacts are within the content of this lecture.
Learning Outcomes 1) Students will learn Minioan Civilization that spanned in the island of Crete.
2) Students will learn Mycenaean Civilization that spanned in Mainland Greece.
3) Beginning of the Iron Age and art and culture in the Protogeometric and Geometric era will be evaluated.
4) Students will be able to understand cultural diversity of Minoans and Mycenaeans. Moreover, historical events will be explained to them. Among with Minoans and Mycenaeans , difference between Protogeometric and Geometric art and architecture will be compared.
