Goals Evaluating the authentic religious education programs by knowing the field, objectives, content and techniques of religious education. Determining the problematic areas in informal and family religious education, discussing the necessity of a religious education terminology. Giving examples from the religious education models of secular countries.
Course Content Concept of religious education science, the dawn of religious education as a science and the reasons hindering its dawn, status of religious education among the sciences, the field, purpose and duties of religious education science, religious education implications in secular countries, examples of religious education methods in the European countries, methods of religious education science, terminology of religious education science, function of Quran Kareem in religious education, function of sunnah in religious education, High school DKAB program, summer Quran teaching courses, religious education in family, adult religious education.
Learning Outcomes 1) Discuss “religious education science” concept and associated concepts (such as education, nurture, discipline, religion, religious education, etc.) in relation to their scientific and daily usages.
2) Analyze the dawn of religious education science and the reasons hindering its dawn.
3) Evaluate the status, purpose and missions of religious education science among disciplines.
4) Explain the research methods of religious education science.
5) Give examples of religious education in secular countries.
6) Claim the usage of a mutual and scientific terminology in religious education.
7) Discuss the functions of the Quran and Sunnah in religious education by taking religious education processes into consideration.
8) Analyze the programs of high school and summer religious education courses.
9) Give examples of approaches, methods and problem fields that are used in religious education within family and adult religious education.
