Goals Knows the definition and history of animal welfare. Understands the criteria for evaluating animal welfare during various procedures. Knows the place and importance of welfare in animal husbandry, welfare criteria in breeding and interactions between them. Knows the necessary welfare criteria according to the species.
Course Content Establishes relationships between various disciplines and sub-fields such as genetics, animal nutrition, biostatistics and birth, which the field of animal science is related to; reaches original results by using his expertise in analyzing, synthesizing and evaluating new and different ideas. He has the necessary tools and equipment knowledge in the field of Animal Science. It defines pets on the basis of species, race, type, age and gender. Knows the environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, shelter, etc.) and nutritional needs they need at different ages and yield levels. Applies appropriate breeding methods according to the species, race and productivity of animals. Can carry out research studies in the field of animal science independently and as a member of the team. Monitors and interprets changes in legal regulations regarding the field and profession. Follows professional and technological developments in animal science and related fields. It is sensitive to animal rights, animal welfare and the environment.
