Goals It is aimed to provide students with information about legal systems and legal terms in the world and in Türkiye.
Course Content Function of law in society, classification of legal rules, sources of law, different approaches to law, hierarchy of legal norms and types and characteristics of legal norms, problem of the legality of the general law of states, methods of interpretation in law, judicial decisions: Examination of examples from the Constitutional Court, Supreme Court and Council of State decisions, scientific basic concepts such as opinion, judgment in law, evaluation of different legal systems and characteristics, public law-private law distinction, public law-private law branches and sub-branches, codification/legalisation, family, property, contract, legal personality/entity, responsibility, sovereignty and the acquisition and protection of rights and loss of responsibility and execution of responsibility, types of sanctions available in the Turkish legal order and theories of punishment and legal movements.
Learning Outcomes 1) Students can learn the basic law principles.
2) To discuss of the Turkish Legal System features.
3) To be introduced Turkish Court System.
4) To teach legal theory in Türkiye and the world.
5) Can analyze basic legal concepts in Türkiye.
