Goals Philosophy of Social Science course aims to examine the insights behind the methodological choices of a systematic social research in the context of concepts and debates in the history of science, social science and philosophy of knowledge.
Course Content This course aims to examine the insights behind the methodological choices of a systematic social research. -Philosophy of science, especially philosophical debates in the field of social sciences, will be examined, -The main claims of mainstream and critical scientific approaches (positivism, hermeneutic, realism, post-modernism, feminism, etc.) will be discussed.
Learning Outcomes 1) Explains the nature, source, limits, accuracy, reliability and validity of knowledge.
2) Examines the methods related to the production of scientific knowledge.
3) Have the ability to conceptualise events and phenomena related to the field; examine them with scientific methods and techniques; interpret data, identify problems, develop solutions based on evidence and research.
