Goals The course aims to review the basic economic concepts of the media sector, to examine the behavioral patterns and market structure of the decision-making units of the sector, and to introduce the approaches and methods to analyze the effects of the socioeconomic changes on the national and global levels.
Course Content Basic approaches to media economics, basic concepts of media economy, production, employment and distribution processes in sub-branches of media sector
Learning Outcomes 1) Explain the basics of recognizing the media industry as an economic field.
2) Explain the characteristics of media product.
3) Analyze the properties of production processes in media.
4) Explains the economic foundations of global media.
5) Evaluates working conditions, wages and employment structure in the media industry.
6) Evaluates the economic approaches of local media as small producers in the media.
7) Analyzes the monopolistic structure of the media market economically.
