Goals This course aims to introduce the way that media industry is structured together with the critical evaluation of widespread approaches to the media. It also offers an explanation of the political economy of the contemporary media environment.
Course Content The structure of today’s media industry is addresses critically within the framework of the economy politics approach and neoliberal policies.
Learning Outcomes 1) It explains the scope of the media policy
2) It differentiates certain approaches to the media policy analysis
3) It evaluates the place of media policy in the whole social formation
4) It defines the main actors of media policy.
5) It evaluates the historical development of modern media and capitalist system
6) It dİfferentiates the advantages of the political economy approach to other approaches on the inquiry of media policy .
7) It evaluates the relationship between neoliberal policy and media policy.
