Goals To teach basic concepts, technics and application methods related to land forming
Course Content Definition, content and purposes of land forming, preparation of land for structural and plantal applications, problems which can appear as results of land forming practices, contour lines, three dimensional shaping of land by cutting, filling and leveling, methods of calculation of cutting and filling amount.
Learning Outcomes 1) Predicts the problems that may occur during and after excavation and filling.
2) Knows the basic concepts and methods related to land forming.
3) Determines appropriate land forming methods.
4) Reads land shaping plans and topographic maps.
5) Calculates the amount of excavation and filling required by the project.
6) Produces solutions to solve the problems of sloping and flat areas and to utilize their advantages.
