Goals The aim of this course is to make students comprehend the basic concepts of international migration, new migration trends, spatial patterns of migration, the causes and consequences of migration, and gain the ability to explain and interpret migration through migration theories.
Course Content This course focuses on the size, workings, new trends, spatial patterns and consequences of international migrations, which have become more remarkable through the globalization process. In addition, migration theories are being evaluated that help explain international migration flows. Thus, contemporary international migration is placed within the general framework.
Learning Outcomes 1) Comprehend the basic concepts of international migration.
2) Identify new research topics related to international migration.
3) Designs new research problems related to international migration.
4) Compare different regions and countries in terms of various dimensions of international migration.
5) Explains the causes of international migration through theories.
6) Performs research designs and applications related to international migration.
7) Makes presentations on international migration.
8) Prepares articles on international migration.
9) Develops critical literature knowledge on international migration.
10) Interprets the results of international migration to make predictions.
