Goals To acquire the basic organic and inorganic chemistry knowledge and skills necessary for understanding the structure and properties of carbon containing and non-carbon substances in veterinary medicine students as a basis for biochemistry and other vocational courses
Course Content To give information about definition and basic concepts of organic chemistry, general and systematic nomenclature of hydrocarbons and functional groups, classification of hydrocarbons, alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, cycloalkanes, cycloalkenes, stereochemistry, isomerism in organic chemistry and trace elements and radioactivity
Learning Outcomes 1) Recognition of organic chemistry which is the chemistry of living things
2) Learning basic organic chemistry terms
3) Will have knowledge about synthesis and reactions of functional groups
