Goals Aim of this course is to teach moment, maximum likelihood and parametric estimation procedures to estimate survival models from data samples and analyse the nature and quality of the estimates.
Course Content Complete and incomplete data samples, moment estimation, actuarial approach to moment estimation, maximum likelihood estimation, properties of estimators, parametric models.
Learning Outcomes 1) Define the complete and incomplete data samples.
2) Define the types of estimation problems.
3) Use moment estimation and maximum likelihood estimation to estimate survival functions.
4) Estimate parametric survival models from both complete and incomplete data samples and to determine the acceptability of these models by hypothesis testing.
