Goals The main aim of this course is to teach students basic knowledge about research methodology in human geography. In this framework, it is aimed to teach students how to use an empirical research methodology in the field of human geography through this course.
Course Content Within the scope of the course, it is aimed to give basic knowledge and techniques about both quantitative and qualitative methods as well as to learn the writing and presentation rules of the academic research. In this context, the course is also aimed to teach how to design a scientific research (thesis, article, report, seminar, homework etc.), the stages of the research process (data collection, evaluation and analysis) and what is the most frequently used quantitative and qualitative methods in researches on human geography, where they will be used and how the outputs should be interpreted.
Learning Outcomes 1) Using scientific research skills in his/her own research in Human Geography
2) Designing and performing research projects within the field of human geography
3) Gaining ability to select appropriate quantitative and qualitative methodologies for problem-based research
