Goals Analysis of microeconomics and macroeconomics in basic level. In respect of microeconomics economic situations, effectiveness of economics, decision process of single consumer and single firms and how they affect each other’s decisions on the market are explored. In respect of macroeconomics economic growth and fluctuations, unemployment, inflation and determiners of economic growth are explored.
Course Content Introduction to history of economics. Economics, basic concepts about economics and economic analysis. Production possibilities curve, specialization and economic systems. Perfect competition market: supply demand and market equilibrium. Government actions. Effectiveness in perfect competition Market failure. Macroeconomics: economic growth and fluctuations. Economic measures: Product, Unemployment, Inflation, interest rate and payment balance. Planned expenditure. Monetary system
Learning Outcomes 1) S/he defines basic concepts of economics and production possibilities curve
2) S/he defines alternative economic systems and their characteristics.
3) S/he interprets curves and functions of individual suppy and demand
4) S/he explains functioning of perfect competition market and market equilibrium
5) S/he interprets government actions over market

8) S/he explains calculation methods of gross national product
9) S/he explains concepts of unemployment, inflation and economic disapproval index
