Goals It is aimed to gain information to students about the origins and development of sociology, some classical and modern sociological theories, postmodernism, globalization, societal institutions, groups, organizations, types of society, social interaction, culture and sociological research.
Course Content Introducing Lesson Content, Basic Concepts in Sociology, The Origin of Sociology, Scientific Revolution and Enlightenment Thought, Great Transformations and Early Sociology, Classical Sociology Theory, Modern Sociology Theory, Postmodernity, Globalization, Societal Groups, Institutions and Formal Organizations, Society Types and Societal Interaction, Culture, Sociological Research, Quantitative and Qualitative Research in Sociology
Learning Outcomes 1) Learn to evaluate people and society in the context of modernism, postmodernism and globalization.
2) He/she learns the evaluation of people and society in the context of modernisation, postmodernism and globalization
3) He/She learns the evaluation of social problems holistically by using sociological point of view
4) Learn to evaluate social problems in a holistic way using a sociological perspective.
5) Learn basic information about social groups, institutions, organizations, and society that is important for practice at the institutional, community, and society levels.
6) He/She learns basic information about societal groups, institutions, organizations and society that are important for institutional, community and community-level implementation
7) He/She gains basic information about the qualitative and quantitative research used in social work researches.
8) Acquire basic knowledge about qualitative and quantitative research used in social work research.
