Goals The aim of this course is to provide the students with health and safety awareness; to inform about occupational accidents and occupational diseases and basic health and safety precautions that taken and should be taken in work environment; to contribute to a healthy and quality life by teaching the rights and responsibilities for work safety.
Course Content Historical development of occupational health and safety in the world and Turkey; international and national organizations; basic concepts and definitions of occupational health and safety; statistics on work accidents and occupational diseases in Turkey; sources of danger (physical - chemical, biological – ergonomic), sources of danger (Psychosocial, mechanical, electrical, manual handling, workplace environment); JHS and OHS committees and their duties; risk assessment and risk assessment methods; steps to take to control risk, Measures to be taken within the scope of OHS in the workplace, OSH training; emergency and emergency action plan; health and safety signs, personal protective equipments; employer 's responsibilities in scope of OSH, rights and responsibilities of workers, notification to the relevant authorities of occupational accidents and occupational diseases; visit to a firm that implements OSH management system; general evaluation.

2) Collection of information in OHS activities; Fulfilling given tasks for OHS activities within the framework of responsibility
