Goals This course is aimed at understanding and effectively using the role of disaster management in the logistics and resource management applications with a systematic approach to planning, organization, implementation and finance.
Course Content Introduction to logistics and resource management; logistics strategy, planning, logistics services; logistics and resource management in disaster management; logistics planning and control in disaster management, basic crisis management in terms of logistics and resource management; evaluation of logistics and resource management for different types of disasters; disaster management process and examination of a management model; emergency logistics and resource management; humanitarian logistics and resource management; logistics and resource management activities in disaster preparedness process; logistics and resource management activities in disaster response process; logistics and resource management activities in post- disaster response; logistics and resource management plan for disasters; logistics and resource management planning for emergency and disaster in the world and in Turkey.
Learning Outcomes 1) Understanding logistics and resource management applications at different stages of disaster management
2) Understanding logistics and resource management according to different disaster types and defining problem areas; Being able to explain basic crisis management terminology in terms of logistics and resource management
3) Comparing national and international humanitarian aid operations from logistics and resource management perspective
