Goals The importance of spatial planning for the actions to be taken against the natural disasters, contribution of geography to this and analysis of Turkey disaster situation. It can be contacted between causes and results of natural disasters.
Course Content Natural disasters and geography, The subject of natural disasters, Types of natural disasters, Land origin disasters: Earthquakes, landslides, rock falls, volcanic eruption, Athmospherical origin disasters: Floods, snowslides, excessive snowfall, storm, hail, frost, fog, drought, lightning, Disaster management, Precautions against natural disasters: Pre-disaster,durşng disaster and after disaster, Relation of Geoghraphical environment and disaster, Examples from disaster in Turkey: August 17, 1999 Marmara earthquake, Spatial planning and disaster relationship, Natural disaster and settlement in Turkey, damages of natural disasters in Turkey, Awareness of natural disaster in Turkey, Perception of natural disaster in Turkey
