Goals Submitting the fundamentals of CBS technologies, expressing physical and functional components of CBS, introduction of Global Positioning System and Map Projection concepts fundamentals, explanation of Data administration and spatial data models (vector and raster), submitting graph and feature data integrated analysis methods and concepts.
Course Content Digital geographic information, GIS definition, GIS components, GIS applications, disciplines associated with GIS, the importance of data for GIS, data input with the use of existing images, real-time digital data input, present digital data input, The World coordinate geometry, Three-dimesional systems, Plane coordinate systems, The relationship with map projections and GIP projection surface, Projection surfaces, Projection corruptions, selection of the proper map projection, Data management concepts, Data drafts, Data base management systems reviews, Vector data model, Raster data model, Transformation between Vector and Raster datas, symbolisation of features, Correction/ classification/generalisation, Overthrust analysis, network analysis, neighborhood analysis, Data quality and errors, Error sources of GIS
