Goals This course aims to convey the basic concepts used in the field of health psychology in general. The current theory and the latest research, health perception and health beliefs, smoking, exercise and diet will also be examined. In addition, stress, secondary traumatization, approach to the chronic and terminal patient will be discussed.
Course Content Definition of disease and health, historical development of disease and health concepts, biopsychosocial model, stress, mechanism of stress, coping with stress, patients'reactions to the illness
Learning Outcomes 1) Students who successfully complete this course will be able to explain what we can do to change those behaviors that we refer to as health-threatening behaviors.
2) It will be able to complete the bases of health and illness.
3) They will be able to understand the effects of stress on the disease.
