Goals Introducing fundamental norms and institutions of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey
Course Content Constitution-making and amendments; overarching principles of the Constitution; constitutional rights, state powers and organs.
Learning Outcomes 1) Understanding the constitutional system of Turkey in historical perspective
2) Understanding the basic tenets of the Constitution at force and their prevailing conceptions.
3) Ability to compare the norms of the Constitution with their historical or international equivalents.
4) Understanding the constitutional rights, within the general framework of rights and in relation to human rights
5) Understanding state organs and their respective powers within the general framework of government system in historical perspective
6) Understanding the power-sharing between central and local government within the general framework of the territorial structuring of the State
