Goals To combine the contents of Information Technology and Management. To make students become comfortable with the technologies that are shaping business today and acquire tools that will help them assess technological trends after their graduation To develop an understanding on the need for management information systems (MIS) and the importance of MIS in business, interrelations and interactions among management, information, and systems; impact of MISs and ISs for improving managerial, operational and strategy making competencies; and hence achieving effectiveness, gaining competitive advantage. To raise the awareness for the critical importance of IT competency in professional life, ethical and social issues related to information technology and information systems security.
Course Content In this course, management, information and system concepts, information systems, enterprise information systems, ethical and social issues in information systems and information society concepts are discussed.
Learning Outcomes 1) Students will learn about management information systems.
2) Students will learn about information society and new trends in information systems.
3) Students will gain the ability to search and choose the appropriate data analysis tool.
