Goals The aim of the course is to provide general information on RNA species, their biogenesis and the RNA polymerases involved in their formation in the context of RNA biology, and at the same time to provide comprehensive information on RNA-based techniques and RNA interference in use today, starting with RNA isolation strategies.
Course Content The course covers topics including introduction to RNA biology, RNA processing, types of RNA, small RNAs, non-coding RNAs, tRNAs, RNome analysis, RNA interference, RNA isolation strategies, quality control of RNA preparations, and RNA sequencing technologies.
Learning Outcomes 1) Defines RNA and its properties.
2) Lists the types of RNA.
3) Has knowledge about current RNA techniques.
