Goals This course aims to address the various aspects of postmortem toxicology practices in more holistic and global sense, in terms of the elements that must be taken into account for proper interpretation of the toxicological results.
Course Content "Preanalytical Considerations,Prior Medical Therapy and Medical Intervention,Analytical Artifacts,Scene Investigation,Anatomical Findings,Unexpected Drug/Metabolites and Endogenous Compounds Drug Stability,Embalming Artifacts,Decomposition Products,Postmortem Clinical Chemistries,Postmortem Formation of Alcohol and Other Volatile Compounds,Postmortem Redistribution,Interpretive Considerations of Postmortem Blood Concentrations,Tolerance"
Learning Outcomes 1) Obtains theoretical knowledge about postmortem toxicology.
2) Learns the contribution of crime scene investigation findings to toxicological results.
3) Learns the changes occured in the body after death.
4) Obtains competence in the examination and interpretation of postmortem findings
