Goals Understanding the purpose, process and method-techniques of maps, reading the data and information in the maps, grasping and applying the steps of creating new maps according to the desired purpose, geographical mapping principles.
Course Content 1. Definition of cartography, aim of the course, basic concepts 2. Shape of the world, measurements regarding shape and shape assumptions 3.Map Projections 4. Projections, Transverse Mercator and Lambert Cone Projection 5. Coordinate Systems 6. Aerial Photography, Production Stages of Topography Maps, 7. topographic maps and Properties in Turkey 8.Reading Topography Maps 9. Measurements on Map I 10. Measurements on Map II 11. Basic Map Elements 12. Distribution Maps 13. Colors, signs and fillings used in maps 14. Cartograms
Learning Outcomes 1) understand of the elements map
