Goals This course aims to provide the participants the basic concepts and necessary knowledge in the sub-headings of Women's Health and Diseases, Children's Health and Diseases and Epidemiology.
Course Content Course content provides a general view of health and illnesses, and provides information about the medical concepts required for medical documentation and secretarial services.
Learning Outcomes 1) Learns the difference between sex and gender.
2) Gains the ability to look at the issues of women's health with a gender based perspective.
3) as knowledge about theanatomy, physiology and concepts of the female reproductive system.
4) Becomes aware of differences in reproductive health from population planning to family planning.
5) Becomes aware of the importance of reproductive health for both women and men.
6) Has information about the methods of contraception,
7) Comprehends a series of changes and complaints that can be seen during the normal mental cycle and premenstrual syndrome.
8) Can give examples of menstrual cycle irregularities.
9) Has information about infections of the genital tract.
10) Becomes aware of sexually transmitted diseases and their effects in terms of reproductive health.
11) Knows acute and chronic pelvic pain.
12) Becomes aware of the physiologica lchange sthat occur in pregnancy.
13) Can give examples of early and late pregnancy problems.
14) Has information about the problems in the puerperal period.
15) Knows the characteristics and the differences of breast diseases.
16) Gains awareness of early diagnosis of breast cancer.
17) Becomes aware of the menopause-related changes and post-menopausal period features.
18) Gains a skill that is fundamental to the use of the results of epidemiological studies and registration systems in own profession.
19) Learns the importance of a healthy child watch.
20) Knows the characteristics of breastfeeding and weaning period.
21) Can give examples of diseases seen in newborn and infant.
22) Has information about the infections seen in childhood.
23) Knows the importance of immunization and vaccination program.
