Goals By providing basic information to the students related to the main fields of public health to canalize them to earn a right attitude towards public health issues
Course Content The concept of public health, Primary health care, Alma Ata Conference, Main steps of child health promotion , Outbreak investigation methods and notification systems, Accident prevention, Principles of healthy and risky groups’ nutrition, Reproductive health , Occupational health, Management of health services and documentation in disasters , School health
Learning Outcomes 1) Define the concept of public health and the concept of primary health services
2) Define the concept of health promotion and the health promotion activities
3) Define main steps of child health promotion and explain main reasons of child mortality
4) Define the general epidemiological characteristics, prevention methods of infectious diseases, outbreak investigation methods and notification systems
5) Explain accident definition and perception, classifies the types of accidents, explain the importance of the public health approach,
6) Define the basic concepts of nutrition, the principles of healthy and risky groups’ nutrition
7) Define the state of women's health and its determinants
8) Define the methods of fertility regulation and family planning
9) Explain the relationship between working life and health, define the concepts related to employee health,
10) Define occupational risks and prevention methods of health workers
11) Explain the disaster definition and perception, classifies the types of disasters, explain the management of health services in disasters
12) Explain the importance of school health, its components and public health
