Goals It is expected that the learners learn basic knowledge about the geography of rural areas and understand the importance of rural areas in this context. Because rural areas are of great importance not only for those living in these areas, but also for those living in urban areas. For this reason, students are expected to understand the problems related to the rural areas and to be able to produce solutions from the geographical perspectives on the economic, social and environmental problems that may arise in the future.
Course Content Rural Geography has focused on the issue of rural life and the spatiality of the countryside and has made a significant development especially in the last 40 years as a subdivision of the geography. In this course aimed to teach the economic, social and environmental characteristics of these areas, especially the characteristics of rural areas, and the geographical perspectives of the changes taking place in these properties. The course also includes creating policies to promote sustainable rural environments and lifestyles, understanding management approaches and knowledge development.
Learning Outcomes 1) Know the characteristics of rural areas.
2) Explain the differences between rural and urban.
3) Knows the change and transformation that took place in the rural areas, explain the reasons for this transformation.
4) Know the restructuring in rural areas.
5) Know rural development.
