Goals	The main objective of this course is to examine the concept of public sphere in the context of urban spaces. It is aimed to discuss the implications of the notion through the lens of the cities in Turkey.
Course Content	Firstly Arendt, Habermas, Sennett and Benhabib's debates on the publicity will be discussed. Following this, this debates will be interrogated by considering the cases of the cities in Turkey.
Learning Outcomes	1) Students gain knowledge in debates on public sphere and public space. 2) Students gain skills in developing thoughts about participatory society. 3) Gaining skills in critical examination of debates on public sphere in Turkey.
