Goals To get students to understand place and importance of morality in society; to give them a perspective about moral concepts, principles and rules; to give them ability to evaluate ethical theories in history of Philosophy with an analytic approach; to give them ability to analyze subjects like authanasia, abortion and sexuality.
Course Content 1. The place of ethics in general philosophy and ethics-metaphysics relation. 2. Basic concepts in ethics; metaethics, normative thics, practicale thics. 3. Moral theories grounded on religion. 4. Duty ethics, hedonist and pragmatist moral theories. 5. Pratcitac ethics: Euthanasia, suicide, bioethics. 7. Ethics, law, religion and its relation.
Learning Outcomes 1) Understands the place and importance of ethics in general philosophy.
2) Knows respects in which human behaviours are subject to moral evaluation.
3) Knows classical and modern debates on moral philosophy.
4) Analyzes the practices like euthanasia, abortion, suicide and stem cell transplantation in repsect of ethics.
5) Knows his/her moral rihgts and responsibilities.
6) Studies personal and social reflections of ethics.
