The Department of Korean Language and Literature was founded in 1989. The department of Korean Language and Literature offers, Korean language, literature, history and culture related studies.

The aim of Korean Language and Literature department is to provide a compherensive and qualified researchers and to broaden their culture and general knowledge by contributing to their intellectual interests and by preparing them to the society for specialized Korea studies.

Students get knowledge about morpological and semantical characteristics of Korean Language and can use Korean Language effectively in written and oral communication in different settings and formats for different purposes Students also have depth knowledge of the history of Korea, evaluate and interpret the historical and social events about Korea. Develop method and techniques of scientific research and studies. Studenta become capable of doing disciplinary and inter-disciplinary researches. Also they can identify, examine the researches about Korean Language and Literature and can find the problems of these researches and try to find solutions for these problems.
