About Program
Ankara University State Conservatory Music Department Instrumental Division Violoncello Program has been designed and opened to train cellists, who are graduates of conservatories or similar music schools' high schools, at undergraduate level to prepare them to be able to play with professional ensembles and/or continue graduate studies upon completion of their degree.
Goals
Cello Branch of the Ankara University State Conservatory Music Department Instrumental Division aims to train professional musicians of both high technical and musical level who could be employed both in both Turkey and abroad, in privately funded or state subsidized symphonic orchestras, opera orchestras, chamber orchestras and chamber music ensembles, and also as instrumental instructors at both Turkish and foreign educational institutions.
Summary of Program Outcomes
Graduate is capable of playing his&her instrument at a professional level to perform solo, chamber music and orchestral settings. Graduate has enough theoretical knowledge to understand and interpret his/her instrument's repertory. Graduate has both intellectual and historical knowledge to be culturally able to interpret the repertory he/she performs. Graduate is capable of utilizing current technological possibilities. Graduate is knowledgeable about music styles other than his/her own and general artistic concepts.
