About Program
The main research activities of biochemistry master's degree program cover the topics of mineral deficiency / excess of the related diseases, cell chemistry, cancer metabolism and metabolic diseases. The courses offered at master's degree program in the department are metabolic diseases, bone metabolism, DNA techniques in clinical and laboratory diagnosis, membrane transport systems, clinical enzymology, carbohydrates and determination methods, protein metabolism and protein assays, lipid metabolism and a urine analysis.
Goals
The purpose of the biochemistry master's degree program, students will know following subjects at the graduate level; the basic biochemistry general laboratory safety rules, molecular biology and the basic genetic issues, clinical biochemistry and biochemical identification methods, cell chemistry and metabolic events at cellular level to get them ready for the PhD programmes for their high academic steps.
Summary of Program Outcomes
Students who graduate from the program will have the knowledge about the general chemistry principles, clinical biochemistry, basic laboratory techniques in molecular biology, metabolic diseases, interpretation of biochemical tests used in the diagnosis of diseases and metabolic relationships between tissues and organs.
