About Program

To bring in knowledge and interpretation skills on topics in the field of veterinary surgery, To bring in skills in diagnosing disorders by clinical, imaging and laboratory findings and treating them adequately Ability to detect and solve problems of animal husbandry related to surgery in Turkey under field conditions, Be able to approach properly and perform professional veterinary surgery in veterinary clinics and animal hospitals by obtaining skills on performing preoperative preparations, problem based anaesthesia techniques, alternative operation techniques and post operative care in large and small animal surgery, Capability of taking part in research and development projects focussed on present and new problems; plan, conduct, write down or present orally or written, question and discuss scientific work self-confidently in front of a population on congresses or similar scientific meetings, Plan, manage, sustain and accomplish all kinds of scientific and commercial organizations linked to veterinary surgery with skills to perform original research as a prerequisite for an academic carrier, innovation and entrepreneurship, Ability to evaluate and independently apply knowledge gained during postgraduate education in order to obtain skills on developing new ideas, techniques, products and getting patents related to veterinary surgery and to be competent to analyse and synthesize them critically.

Goals

The aim of the doctoral program in Veterinary Surgery is to educate students aware of Turkey’s animal health problems and have the necessary knowledge, skills and approach to solve these problems, who are capable of managing and working as a surgeon in veterinary clinics,who are aware of animal welfare und follow rules of medical ethics,who questions and makes research and constantly renovates and improves her/himself, follows recent scientific research, to become a veterinary practitioner who has surgical notion at an international level.

Summary of Program Outcomes
