About Program

This program is designed for delivering the fundamental steps of scientific research in health sciences and for this process to be completed based on pharmacology. It is primarily for  graduates of a 4-year undergraduate programs who have a master's degree in health sciences as well as for graduates of a 5-year undergraduate program in health sciences. The components of the theoretical education includes coursework on formation in education, statistical analysis, ethical rules and animal handling in addition to advanced level pharmacology lectures. This part of the program is completed in 4 academic semesters. By the end of this formal education, the student is expected to succeed in a candidacy exam that covers but is not limited to undergraduate and graduate level theoretical information. The program is completed with the defence of a novel PhD thesis based on laboratory work. 

Goals

This program aims to provide scientific background to candidates who are willing to pursue a carreer in pharmacology.

Summary of Program Outcomes

Develops pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic effect profiles of drugs, effect mechanisms and drug interactions; the knowledge of cardiovascular and endocrine system pharmacology based on undergraduate and graduate qualifications to be the infrastructure for original research subjects. Associated with pharmacology different disciplines such as physiology, genetics, biochemistry, toxicology plans for collaboration; Constructs experimental protocols in accordance with the hypothesis; Analyzing and interpreting the results obtained.
