This programme is conducted under the department of medical microbiology at the faculty of medicine, and supported by a  professor from the division of medical parasitology besides 10 professor and 1 associate professor from the department of medical microbiology. General and specific medical parasitology subjects are given by required and elective courses. Subjects like biology and epidemiology of medically important parasites, pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical processes in the diagnosis of parasitic diseases, control of parasitic diseases and research methods in this field takes place in this programme.   

To gain knowledge and skills in the field of medical parasitology according to postgraduate competencies; namely the ability to analyze the subjects of the field with a deep and scientific point of view, to find out and evaluate the problems and to conduct independent researches. It is aimed that students will improve and deepen the current and advanced knowledge to the level of specialty in the field of medical parasitology, by original thinking and/or research and will reach original definitions which will bring innovation to science.

The students who graduate from this programme; knows the agents that causes parasitic diseases in humans, pathogenesis, how to obtain and transport appropriate clinical sample to the laboratory, appropriate and novel diagnostic and research laboratory methods, reporting laboratory results and the research methods in the field of medical parasitology. Reaches, understands and evaluates the reported scientific data about the field; has the skill to fully examine a clinical sample in the laboratory, finds out and applies the appropriate method, comments on the laboratory findings and cooperates with the clinician about the results, successfully applies the methods which are used in parasitology research. Obeys the ethical rules and scientifically improves him/herself. Reaches original results by evaluating and analysing new and complex ideas with expertise.
