On 1st September 2010, Master’s Program of Social Work; on 23rd September 2010 Non-thesis Master’s Program of Social Work and on 1st March 2013 Master’s Program of Social Work (Evening Education) have been founded in Health Sciences Institution of Ankara University. There are 6 professors, 3 associate professors in the department now.

In the department; social work theories, social policies and social welfare, ethical codes, human rights and social justice, advocacy and social work with minority and disadvantage groups are being taught within the must (Social Work Theory, Social Work and Social Policies, Research Methods For Social Work, Social Work and Professional Ethics, Projects of Social Responsibility etc.) and selective (Community Social Work Practice, Social Work with families, groups and individuals, Domestic Violence, Women Welfare, Social Work and Disabilities etc.) courses.

The purpose of the Social Work Program is to train professionals giving priority to the country needs, working with an approach adopted by national and universal values ??, providing social improvement and social organization, demonstrating the power of social institutions and social policies.

Graduates from this department have information, skill and values of social work by using scientific principles, methods and techniques for individual, group, family and community practices.
